Welcome to the Blog . . .

Today the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced the first newly ordained prophet/president in thirteen years . . . Today seems as good as any to start a blog of my own to post my thoughts and questions concerning the doctrines of a church that is entering a new era. Enjoy Reading

Dreams . . .

As a person that puts some stock in dreams, I thought I would post one that seemed to have a clear meaning. Most people have heard that America's wheat supply is struggling right now, maybe it will rebound, maybe it won't . . .

I dreamed that I was at the Lindon, Utah dry pack cannery. The shelves there were almost empty, and the warehouse was a mess like there had been a run on the place and people had thrown food and garbage everywhere. I wanted to buy some wheat, but there was no wheat to be had. They offered some small amount of a cereal that I had never heard of; I was told it didn't have the nutritional value of wheat.

I thought that was a clear warning that I needed to beef up my food storage before things get worse than they already are. See the article below.

how's the reading of the journal of discourses volume one coming? or are you onto other volumes already? we truly live in a time that has long been prophesied of. visions, dreams...
i have one to share with you since you are a relative of president young. you know i had problems with some of his teachings at one point. while i was struggling with the teaching i was reading and praying much seeking some form of resolution. i was awakened one night after a dream i had and i felt comforted concerning the teachings in question. in the dream i saw president young busily working on the other side of the vail. he was moving rapidly from one place to another in a room that contained many records. i sensed that he was looking for something in particular to assist in a work he was performing, and i felt perhaps that he was too busy to answer the questions that i had. the spirit whispered to me and told me to express my concern to him. i said "president young i am having trouble understanding some of the things that you taught." he paused for a moment from his labors and turned to me, looking directly at me, and said "my boy, i still do not understand some of the things that i taught. forget about it and go to work. there is work to do." at this point he returned to his work and i awoke from my dream. there is work to do. i thank God that we have the privelege of being involved in his work. anyway, when can y'all come over and eat some bbq? can you come sunday? i'll call you tomorrow just incase you don't see this in a timely manner.
ps - i have almost finished volume 1

I'm On Volume 2. I think Sunday could work, but not sure what time . . . I have to home teach. Amazing dream! I wish I could have a dream like that. I have prayed to have a dream where I could hear Brigham speak or preach. You're lucky.
